Serious Health Issues

I recently heard from my opthamologist and got some chilling feedback. I'm very myopic, this I've discussed, and it's leading to some serious optical problems. I have a hole in one of my retinas. This means that I might have to avoid serious effort and possibly windsurfing. The risk is I might tear the retina in that eye and go blind.

Wouldn't that just suck?

I had a torn retina in my left eye. A surgeon put a band around my eye ball to force the retina back against the eye wall. The macula was damaged and I have a bump on my retina. When I close my right eye a straight object will look curved to me. The Doc said I shouldn't go blind but will not see like new again. I still windsurf with some pretty thick glasses. So all is not lost.

may the wind always be at your back

Well, thank you. I recently heard that I can still windsurf, but I should avoid some of the real rough stuff. As if I did that rough stuff. Perhaps Jaws will never be in my future. Oh well.
